[Re]Connection: The Best of Being Alive || Take a Hike—Literally: Disconnected from the Natural World

Sunday, July 12, 2020

Rev. Dr. Donna Claycomb Sokol || Pastor

Genesis 1:1-28

"Of course you are sad," he said, while taking an evening walk. "We're not supposed to be caged up like we are right now because of the pandemic." God created everything, called it good, and invited humankind to have dominion over it. The Psalmist regularly saw God’s handprint in the gift of creation. What patterns do we have that enable us to experience re-creation: taking a hike, sitting by a lake, stopping to smell a rose, or watching for rainbows when the sun is shining through the clouds? Nature not only has the capacity to fill us with awe, it's also a key component of our mental health. Worship with us on Sunday at 11:00am as our current series, based on the book, Lost Connections, continues with an examination of the gift and necessity of being connected with nature.
