Sunday, September 27, 2020

Rev. Dr. Donna Claycomb Sokol || Pastor

Exodus 17:1-7 & Philippians 2:1-13

"The exodus is a powerful symbol that the present situation does not define what is possible for God."

—Terence E. Fretheim

How resilient are you?

We may have entered the month of April convinced we were adapting well to the series of adversities brought about by a global pandemic. Can we say the same about ourselves as October looks us in the eye?

What happens to our resiliency when the season of adversity lingers longer than we could have ever imagined?

The Israelites are faced with yet another adversity in the wilderness. They are thirsty, and there is no water to drink. The lack of water pushes them to quarrel, only to again see God meet their need. The passage ends with a question, "Is the Lord among us or not?"

How many of us have asked a similar question in this season?

Join us on Sunday at 11:00am EDT for a powerful time of worship as we identify where and how the Lord is, indeed, amongst us, even or especially now.
