The Hardest Questions for Life || What Must I Do to Die a Good Death?
The American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry has identified ten qualities of a good death: Having control over the specific dying process Pain-free status Engagement with religion or spirituality Experiencing emotional well-being Having a sense of life completion or legacy Having a choice in treatment preferences Experiencing dignity in the dying process Having family present and saying goodbye Quality of life during the dying process A good relationship with health care providers While we may be tempted to believe we can plan to have all ten qualities in place before we take our final breath, we're only fooling ourselves to believe we have such control. How, then, do we live as those who are always prepared to die? Join us on Sunday as we ponder the promises of Jesus who "came so they may have life, and have it abundantly" and seek to seize the gift of abundant life right now, so that living or dying, our life is in Christ.
