History is filled with leaders who have been forged in crisis—Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, and Ernest Shackleton are a few of the people highlighted in Harvard Business School historian Nancy Koehn's book about courageous leadership in turbulent times. But what happens to our faith in the midst of a crisis? Is it weakened? Does it disappear all together? Or can we actually discover faith in one who comes and says, "Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid," when we're certain we're about to sink?
