Psalm 25:1-10 & 1 Thessalonians 3:9-13

"Who Told You to Be Still?" In Psalm 46, God invites us to “Be still…and know that I am God.” This Advent at MVP, you are invited to join us in stilling our hearts as we retell and anticipate the celebration of the birth of Jesus. During December, much like Martha who scurried around while her sister, Mary, sat at the feet of Jesus in Luke 10, we often get so caught up in our busy preparations that we miss opportunities for stillness and the true preparation of our hearts. As we enter yet another holiday season still feeling the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will lean into the gift of stillness and continue in still holding out hope, still embracing love, still finding peace, and still celebrating joy. Please make space to join us as we seek to still ourselves to receive anew the timeless gifts of Jesus, who is still making possible the advent of things we desperately need today.
