Fearless Discipleship || Letting Go

Sunday, October 13, 2024 || 11:00am

Rev. Dr. Donna Claycomb Sokol || Pastor

Mark 10:17-31

Fear can be a powerful force in our lives, shaping our thoughts, behaviors, and perspectives. The emotion often leads us to focus on what we lack rather than what we have, creating a mindset of scarcity. This mindset can manifest in hesitations about pursuing opportunities, deepening relationships, and, especially, stepping out in faith. When we view life through this lens, we may miss the abundance that surrounds us—whether it's support from loved ones, the assurance that we are enough, or opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. Rather than giving into our fears, how might we lean into faith and community in a way that transforms our fear into trust and moves us from a place of scarcity to one of abundance and static-ness to transformation?

Join us this Sunday as a new worship series, "Fearless Discipleship" begins with a challenging text in which we are beckoned to ponder what we might let go of in order to experience the fullness of life Jesus promises both here and through eternity.
