Genesis: Let's Start at the Very Beginning || In the Beginning
This summer, the lectionary takes us back to the very beginning where we will spend five weeks exploring passages from the first book of the Bible. We begin this week with one of the accounts of creation, a poem written to people who were living in exile and desperately needed to believe God was still in control. We will read this familiar text not as a blueprint for how the world was created, but as a literary gift filled with revelations about why God can be trusted, what it means for humanity to have dominion over creation, and what the Sabbath reveals about who God is and who we are called to be in response. Join us this morning as we seek to shed new light on a familiar text, allowing our hearts and minds to be touched and transformed in the process.
