100% || The Art of Using Wealth

Rev. Dr. Donna Claycomb Sokol

Mark 10:17-31

John Chrysostom, one of the early church fathers, believed that “just as a brass worker or a weaver or a carpenter has a particular art, so there is an art in using wealth.” What might such an art entail? What might have happened if the rich man featured in today’s text used his wealth as art instead of walking away grieving because he could not let go of his possessions? Join us this morning as we give thanks for one who used his resources in ways that transformed communities near and far—including ours—and imagine together how we might do the same.
