An Alternative Path || Call Back Time

God is many things: slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love, merciful, and loving. God is also persistent--especially when it comes to calling people to partner with God to bring about change and transformation. Sunday's Old Testament lesson is part of a beloved tale of a man who finds himself in the belly of a whale for three days and three nights after running from God. God finally spews him out only to call him to do the very thing he first resisted. What have we resisted or struggled to get right the first time? When did we fail only to get a call back? How might God be calling us to do the very thing we have run from before? It's call back time!
