We The People: Healing the Heart of Democracy || Holding-Tension in Life-Giving Ways

Sunday, April 25, 2021

Rev. Dr. Donna Claycomb Sokol || Pastor

Acts 4:1-12 & 1 John 3:16-24

Power rarely wants to be threatened or disrupted. But that's exactly what happens when faith in Jesus heals a man lame from birth, setting him free to dance through the temple. Those who were part of this healing are not celebrated by those with power. Rather, Peter and John are jailed in an effort to contain their power and influence. But the power of Christ is not something that can be contained, no matter how sanitized Christianity may sometimes appear. Join us this morning at 11:00am as our series, "We the People: Healing the Heart of Democracy," continues with an exploration of the third habit of the heart: cultivating the ability to hold tension in life-giving ways.
