All Things Sacred || Encountering God Through Compassion

Compassion compels us to respond and move. It does not remain in the realm of mere sympathy or feelings of pity. Compassion becomes compassion when what is internally felt inspires an external response—the concrete act to love those who suffer. In this week's passage, Jesus, surrounded by a crowd tells the famous parable of the prodigal son. What does it mean to experience God through the concrete act of compassion?
