Luke 4:14-21 & Jeremiah 1:4-10

When the beloved Archbishop Emeritus and 1984 Nobel Peace laureate, Desmond Mpilo Tutu, died on December 26, the current Archbishop of Cape Town wrote how Tutu’s starting and end point was his relationship with God. “He took God, God’s purpose and God’s creation deadly seriously.” Taking God deadly seriously paved a path for life abundant for thousands of people in South Africa and millions of others around the world. What lessons might we glean and embody from Tutu’s extraordinary life as we, too, seek to take God seriously? Join us this Sunday as our new series begins and we ponder the necessity of always being ready to witness to the truth.
