The word mission comes from the Latin root mission which means sent or sending. From the beginning, disciples have been sent into the world to better love their neighbor. Methodism, at is core, is missional and this missional movement has made a deep impact through the establishment of hospitals, universities, and other institutions meeting real needs in the community. It is a legacy we can be proud of and one we can continue to foster today whenever we allow ourselves to be sent to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
Join us this morning as our series, "A Faith Worth Living: What We Believe as United Methodists and Why" continues with an exploration of what it means to be called and sent out in mission to the whole world.
