Jeremiah 32:1-3a, 6-15

Our series on the book of Jeremiah continues this week with a detailed real estate transaction. What appears to be the sale of land from one family member to another is actually a profound sign of hope. While Babylon is about to destroy Jerusalem and all that is within it, the destruction will not last. "Houses and fields and vineyards shall again be bought to this land," God says through Jeremiah.

Have you ever made what appeared to be a ill-advised investment, claiming a belief, clinging to a hope, that new life was about to come where destruction once existed?

How might the dark and challenging moments through which we are living provide opportunities to plant and invest for the future?

Join us this week as we ponder these questions and again hear a message of hope—even on the eve of Jerusalem's destruction. We'll also celebrate the sacrament of baptism and embrace the gift of authentic community.
