Have you ever tried to strike a deal with Jesus? Maybe it sounded like, “If you give me that job, I’ll follow you more faithfully,” or “If you meet this need, then I’ll finally believe.” What happened when you got what you wanted? Did your devotion deepen—or quietly drift? And when God didn’t answer the way you hoped, did you want to walk away?
What if following Jesus isn’t a bargaining chip, but a daily journey that fills, transforms, and sustains us in ways our revolving wish lists never could? What if faith isn’t something we use to get what we want, but the very thing that nourishes us—body, mind, and soul—like nothing else?
This week we wrestle with these questions and more in the conclusion of our sermon series, “This is Us: The Heart of MVP.” Together, we’ll lean into our core value of cultivating spiritual depth in hopes of discovering a faith that doesn’t bargain, but abides; a faith that doesn’t demand, but endures.
