The Brookland Neighborhood Small Group will begin a new study using Amy-Jill Levine’s The Difficult Words of Jesus. Levine, a Jewish scholar of the New Testament and expert in first-century Jewish culture, brings insight and context to some of Jesus’ most challenging teachings. Over the course of six to seven gatherings, the group will explore passages that have puzzled believers and scholars alike, with each gathering including a short video from Levine and conversation together.

You do not need to purchase the book to participate, although reading the chapter ahead of time may enrich the discussion. The group meets in person at the home of Malcolm, who is also the point of contact for the group. Contact Minister Lee to be connected with the group leader.
