MVP’s Children and Youth Ministry invites Children (Birth-5th Grade) and Youth (6th Grade and up) to strengthen their relationship with God, with caring adults, and with each other.

Children are disciples too! Jesus said:

“Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs” -Matthew 19:14

Children are abundantly welcome in our life together at MVP, and we seek to take seriously the privilege of guiding our children to accept God’s love and grace for themselves through our teaching and example.

Our Programs

Children’s Sunday School (Ages 4-10) || Sundays || 10:00-10:45am

Our Sunday School is designed to honor the spiritual life of children—their natural sense of awe, wonder, imagination, and curiosity—and help shape their growing faith with Celebrate Wonder. Leaders will guide children through engaging experiences, spiritual practices, and opportunities for reflection, giving them a safe space to ask big questions and helping them claim their spiritual identity as children of God. Sunday School begins at 10:00am and includes music, fun activities, storytelling, and space to discover what the Bible has to teach about being a person of faith in a community and how to share God’s love with others.

Nursery Care (Infants-Toddlers Age 4) || Sundays || 10:00am-12:15pm

MVP offers Staffed Nursery Care for infants and toddlers from 10:30am through the end of worship in a carefully designed space in the Fellowship Hall. If your family would like to take advantage of Nursery Care you are invited to bring your infants and toddlers to the Fellowship Hall where you will see one of our staff or volunteers in a rainbow sash ready to receive you and help you with drop-off and signing-in. All staff and volunteers who work children are required to be vaccinated and masked.

Children’s Worship (Ages 4-10) || Sundays || During 11:00am Worship

During a portion of Sunday Worship, Children’s Worship is available for children aged 4-years-old to 10-years-old. Children’s Worship runs concurrently with a portion of the Sunday morning worship service and children are invited to start worship in the Sanctuary with their families and then gather near the doors at the front right of the Sanctuary to depart with the Children’s Worship Staff and Volunteers just before the reading of Scripture to a dedicated teaching space curated for children. Children are then be brought back to the Sanctuary following the sermon to conclude worship with their families.

Youth Sunday School & Confirmation (6th Grade and Up)

The MVP Youth Group gathers bi-weekly on Sunday Mornings from 9:45-10:45am for Youth Sunday School and Confirmation class. This time includes time for building community, opportunities to grow in faith, and fun activities designed to engage young people in their own faith formation.

Sunday Morning Resources:

INFANT AND TODDLER RESOURCE SPACE:

The Infant and Toddler Resource Space (located on the 2nd Floor of the Historic Church behind the Sanctuary) is unlocked and available for families with infants and toddlers to use. The Infant and Toddler Resource Space does not include staff supervision and an adult must accompany their child to the Infant and Toddler Resource Space. This space is equipped with wipes, sanitizer, and an air purification machine. Additionally, the worship service is livestreamed directly to the Infant and Toddler Resource Space so that families using this space can continue to worship with the online community from inside this space!

CHILDREN’S LIBRARY:

One-time use worship kits are available for children ages 4 and up. These kits are available for pick-up at the Children’s Library at the entrance to the Sanctuary. Here you will also find a wonderful selection of books and a selection of musical instruments for use while in the building. Families are asked to use the provided sanitization station prior to selecting books and place used books in the bin labelled “used” near the shelf, after use.
